چکیده

Abstract Inconel 718 is a nickel-based superalloy with exceptional mechanical qualities, including high tensile and impact strength, as well good oxidation corrosion resistance. EDM widely used to cut hard materials of this type by common parameters affecting spark, current, duty cycle etc, whereas MRR, SR can be greatly improved using sufficient fluid properties the dielectric. Incorporation alumina nanoparticles deionized water may improve machining performance, no prior research on characteristics nanofluid in EDM. The machinability via electrical discharge process, performance dielectric medium, have been evaluated concentration 0.5%. In study, based effect various input such I p , ${P}_{on}$?> P o n ${G}_{v}$?> G v TWR SR, RSM has conduct experiments. A maximum MRR 0.048 g min −1 , 0.00632 an 3.271 μ m are achieved. Overall, use EDM, due reduction abnormalities crack formation molten metal debris machined surface 718.

Parametric optimization of powder mixed electrical discharge machining for nickel-based superalloy inconel-800 using response surface methodology

Background: Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a well-established non-conventional machining process for the machining of electrically conductive and difficult-to-machine materials. But its applications are limited because of the slow machining rate and poor surface finish. Powder mixed EDM (PMEDM) is unitary of the recent progresses in the EDM process in which powder particles mixed in th...

Temperature Measurement and Numerical Prediction in Machining Inconel 718

Thermal issues are critical when machining Ni-based superalloy components designed for high temperature applications. The low thermal conductivity and extreme strain hardening of this family of materials results in elevated temperatures around the cutting area. This elevated temperature could lead to machining-induced damage such as phase changes and residual stresses, resulting in reduced serv...
